Keisuke is a Brooklyn based guitarist, sound artist, and composer. Born and raised in Berlin, Germany he started playing the electric guitar at age 12. As a founding member of the post-krautrock band Trio Schmetterling he has performed in over 30 countries and has released records internationally. With numerous years teaching guitar lessons in NYC to both adults and kids from beginner to advanced under his belt Keisuke specializes in electric and acoustic guitar along with electric bass. He also teaches improvisation to instrumentalists/vocalists with a focus on improving students’ musicianship. He is adept at teaching one-on-one guitar lessons as well as working with a whole band or even big band. As a guitar and improvisation instructor he has been on the teaching faculty at the Jazzkooperative Berlin since 2004 and served as adjunct faculty at New York University. As an ERASMUS and DAAD scholar, he holds master’s degrees from both Hochschule Luzern and New York University and a post-graduate degree from Weimar School of Music.
